Pastor Omar Coronado, Iglesia Centro Libre Cristiano & Inland Congregations United for Change
Pastor Omar Coronado is assistant pastor of Centro Libre Christian Church in Indio, California. For over 17 years he has accompanied and strengthened migrant families and farming communities in Mexico and Central America. Pastor Coronado’s calling is to go beyond the four walls of the church, embrace those who suffer, accompany those who mourn and bring hope to those who feel alone. He has engaged in numerous faith and justice initiatives, as well as outreach projects for orphans, widows and people in vulnerable situations. Being part of Inland Congregations United for Change, PICO California and the Faith in Action network has connected Pastor Coronado with other leaders and communities to defend the dignity and rights of those who need it most. He firmly believes that the church is one big family, called to live in unity and serve with genuine love.

Reverend Amy Beth Durward, Eureka First United Methodist Church & True North
Rev. Dr. Amy Beth Durward de Macias is a pastor in the United Methodist Church, currently serving Eureka First United Methodist Church. She has been in service for 25 years. Her Bachelor’s Degree is in Community Studies from UC Santa Cruz, focused on HIV Prevention & Education. Rev. Dr. Durward de Macias obtained her Masters of Divinity from the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, California and received her Doctor of Ministry in Transformational Leadership and Social Justice from Boston University. Her thesis was on the impact of Sabbath Practice on Social Justice. Rev. Dr. Durward de Macias serves on the board of directors of True North Organizing Network and on PICO’s State Leadership Council.

Rabbi Hannah Jensen, IKAR & LA Voice
Rabbi Hannah Jensen is Assistant Rabbi at IKAR, a Jewish community rooted in ancient wisdom and inspired by the moral mandate to build a more just and loving world. Active with LA Voice, she spent many years involved in community organizing leadership. Rabbi Jensen has worked as a spiritual counselor at Beit T’shuvah, a residential addiction treatment center, and with T’ruah: The Rabbinic Call for Human Rights. She is the current HIAS representative to the Jewish Public Affairs Committee, and works to amplify the voices of immigrants and refugees, serve as the rabbinic presence for much of IKAR’s multifaith, multiracial justice work in Los Angeles and California, and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.

Rev. Kristen Kuriga, First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego & San Diego Organizing Project
Rev. Kristen Kuriga (she/her) is an ordained Unitarian Universalist Minister and currently serves as the Assistant Minister of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego. Active with San Diego Organizing Project, her call to ministry is at the intersection of spiritual practice, social justice and art. Rev. Kuriga has over 20 years of labor and community organizing experience that deeply informs her ministry. She received a Master of Divinity degree from Starr King School for the Ministry, a Master of Arts in Peace and Justice Studies from the University of San Diego, and a Bachelor of the Arts from Sarah Lawrence College. Rev. Kuriga lives in San Diego with her husband Joshua, child Lucas, and cat Bub.

Bishop Jeffrey Martin, Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church & LA Voice
Bishop Jeffrey Martin is Senior Pastor at Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church in Pacoima, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley. Bishop Martin organizes with LA Voice and is committed to bringing about change in the community. He is ordained with the Church of God in Christ as well as Full Praise Ministries Church. He is active with a number of organizations, including the Central District auxiliary of the Western Baptist Convention, the Fishers of Men (a Diocese within the United Christian Communion), Gods Ordained Disciples, Silver Lining of Hope Crusade, Inc. and the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Brotherhood. Bishop Martin holds a Masters in Divinity and Bachelor of Theology from Great Commission Bible College, a degree in Philosophy from Los Angeles Mission College and a degree in Political Science from California State University of Northridge.

Pastor Andrew Sampson, Modesto Church of the Brethren & Faith in the Valley
Pastor Andrew Sampson is pastor at the Modesto Church of the Brethren, where he has served since 2019. He is active with PICO affiliate Faith in the Valley. Pastor Sampson’s ministry focus is a slight altering of a quote oft-attributed to Woody Guthrie, “comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comfortable.” In over 20 years, he has ministered in churches located within the former steel mill districts of the East Coast, the farming communities in the Midwest, and the working class neighborhoods of California. The relationships Pastor Sampson has made have shown him that there is more that will bring us together than can divide us. The challenge he finds, however, is opening ourselves enough to make that connection. Pastor Sampson is encouraged daily by his wife and their two sons, two giant dogs and one goldfish.

Rev. Erik Swanson, Westhope Presbyterian Church & PACT San Jose
Pastor Erik Swanson came to the Westhope community in 2006, bringing a fresh vision of a contemplative, healing way of being community together. Over the last several years, Westhope has been led to embody justice in the larger community in a much more intentional way. Active with PACT San Jose, Pastor Swanson also founded Community Interfaith Voice and served as chair of the Saratoga Ministerial Association. He graduated from San Francisco Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity and a concentration in Spiritual Formation. He earned his certificate in the art of Spiritual Direction from the Spiritual Life Center in Bloomfield, CT, and spent a year studying sacred community while living in the ecumenical Taize monastery in Taize, France.

Pastor Terrance Taylor, Breath of Life Seventh-day Adventist Church & LA Voice
Pastor Terrance Taylor serves as the Senior Pastor of the Breath of Life Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inglewood, California. Born in Minneapolis, he has dedicated his life’s work to being a community advocate, social critic and public theologian centered around the intersections of liberation theology, queer studies, diversity and inclusion and corporate social responsibility. Pastor Taylor organizes with LA Voice, and also serves on the advisory board for the Center for Ecumenical and Interreligious Engagement. He holds a Bachelor in Theology from Walla Walla University, a Master of Divinity from Andrews University, a Diversity and Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University, and a Doctorate of Ministry from Seattle University. Pastor Taylor has been married to Melissa Taylor for 20 years and is father to Edynn, Amaya and Bruno.

Pastor Elijah Wells, Jr., Valley Berean Christian Church, L.A. Voice
Pastor Eli Wells has dedicated over 35 years to ministry, including more than 30 years as a senior pastor, passionately serving both congregation and community. Active with LA Voice, he is deeply committed to community improvement and advocacy, and has worked tirelessly to support the disadvantaged and homeless, partnering with public officials to foster safer and stronger neighborhoods. In addition to pastoral leadership, Pastor Wells brings strong financial expertise, currently serving as treasurer of the local Neighborhood Council and President of a local Community Improvement Association. He is also an active member of four corporate boards. Through these roles, Pastor Wells has been instrumental in advancing initiatives that strengthen neighborhoods, promote safety, and uplift those in need.

Deacon Cynthia Woods, St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, True North
The Rev. Cindy Woods spent the first 18 years of her life on a family farm in Nebraska. She graduated from a four-year college in Iowa with a B.A. in Religion, and shortly after made the grand leap from rural life to urban living by moving to Los Angeles. Deacon Woods was ordained as a deacon in the Episcopal church in 2019 and began serving in ministry in a more official capacity after decades of volunteer work in the church. As a deacon, she is called to be on a two-way street, leading the church into the world and bringing the world back into the church. Deacon Woods serves as board chair of True North Organizing Network as well as a member of PICO’s State Leadership Council. She lives in Humboldt County with her partner Kelly, to whom she has been married for 29 years.
