Town Hall Meetings on "Getting Down to Facts" Studies
PICO California, in conjunction with California ACORN, Californians for Justice, and Public Advocates, is organizing two information sessions and Town Hall meetings on the recently released “Getting Down to Facts” studies on school finance and governance. Parents, students, and community leaders will meet in Oakland on Saturday, May 12, and in Los Angeles on Saturday, May 19, for workshops and information sessions designed to develop a deeper understanding of the findings from these important studies and to connect the research findings to our local work to improve schools. Local and state policy makers have been invited to both events so that they may hear directly from their constituents about concerns and priorities for local and statewide school reform.
